{小} *[s]ewʔ “small” & {少} *[s.t]ewʔ “few” & {杪/藐} *[m]ewʔ “small”
Abstract depiction of three small objects. Initially it was used for words {小}, {少} and {杪/藐} (or for one of these words, if the reconstruction with *M- for all of them turns out to be true). Later it began to be used only for {小}.
